Religion or country or your lust?

When I was born two decades ago, there was sure somebody to comment that I should have done something good in my last birth to be born in this country; my country, India. Yes I believed the same every time when I stretched my hand forward at school and said my Pledge proudly….India is my country. But the very next line has given me a spine chill down these years..and being a girl gave me more….”All Indians are my brothers and sisters”..! Many “brothers” and hymen-hurt-sisters have proven it wrong to me. I never knew that men with lust-vampire in them would move away from my flesh and soul when I addressed them “bhaiya” (brother) until some man in saffron suggested it to us!! I never thought a 5 yr old girl would be sexually appealing when not in clothes…or maybe the mother should have put her in a Saree to stop the child’s “exposure”..!  Where is the mistake? Oh..! Again…my pledge has deceived me, it says, “I respect all elders,..” but does that mean younger ones should not be respected? They say God and Children are one.

Did man create religions or did religions create man? Did God create religions or did religions create Gods? These are to be answered by Human beings and not religious agents.

What does religion has to do with assault and rape? Does any holy scripture ask humans to be punished for their mistakes by being raped brutally and fatally? Does your anguish in the name of religion gets quenched when you contaminate your own “religious temple” or in your words, does your God smile when you shed at its feet the blood of a tender vagina from where you too inhaled oxygen for the first time through your mother’s same? Who are you punishing…The “other religion”?

This is not just from a girl or a woman or a sister or a mother to another girl..but from a human being craving to find answers to many questions on gender, society and childhood.
