Bye-polls results have no impact of structural reforms

If the government is engaged in bringing the structural reforms in every sphere, the recent bye-polls results appear to have not been under the influence of the past four-year movement. The ruling party has secured only two seats out of 14 seats where bye-elections were conducted. It included four parliamentary seats and ten assembly seats in different states.

Although the ruling party does not fail to describe its success in Jan Dhan Yojna bank accounts and the Ujjawala Yojna yet the loss of seats in the polls indicate different side. Fifty million BPL households have received LPG connection under the scheme.

While the JDY accounts stand at 316 million presently. Its commanding power among the common man’s eyes was supposed to bring back no marked increase in face value. Merely propaganda cannot do the required goal.

The latest bye-polls results were enough to demonstrate the losing popularity of the political party in power. It was obviously not hidden from the public eyes. There is the visual aspect of it, which many would not think pleasant at this very critical hour.

The opposition parties puffed up politicians could now say that nothing notable has so far changed despite their very absence from the seats of power. As the elections do not become stale with the changing time so, too, does the people’s choice.

With the remarkable wins in the bye-elections, the ecstatic opposition parties genuinely have found a silent and surprising revelation that came upon them with the impulsive realization of its quite vivid political fortune in the next year’s parliamentary elections. Though the BJP might vehemently deny it but let us not pull the wool over others’ eyes.

The only result more exciting for the BJP was definitely its win at the Palghar parliamentary seat. In the past two years, the ruling party has successfully triumphed over just two LS seats. Nothing is only encouraging for it has lost as many as seven seats so far in the bye-polls.

As a result, its single-party tag seemed to have been nearing the danger point. Recently, the BJP has lost badly its Kairana LS seat in the UP bye-elections. Any further changes in the BJP makeup may oblige the party to rally round its allies’ for the political support.
