As per two party MLAs, rampant corruption has emerged as a major cause of political loss in Kairana for the BJP.
The ruling party had failed to stop corruption at every level. This scenario will not improve unless strict action is taken. Sadly, there are no instruction booklets for improving such things.
Even as Arvind Panagariya asserts that, “the government is working to end corruption on a war footing. Demonetisation, a daring act, was an integral part of this effort. It has yielded handsome dividend through many channels”, the end results are far from satisfactory.
This was the same party which had once called out the Congress, the SP and the BSP for corruption. But after the defeat in the Kairana and Noorpur bypolls, BJP leaders were finding corruption in their own party.
The opposition leaders are elated at their blossoming prospects. They can now envision a way for the BJP to be defeated – something they had not been able to do in the past.
