It’s important for us to listen and learn that we women are not less than anyone. We always believe that as women, we should just follow what our mothers or other women in the society have done. In this way, we are not allowed to raise voice for ourselves, and we are not allowed to be how we are or be how we would like to be.
We are always bound by certain rules and regulations, and we are asked to follow them. Many of these customs have been made by none other than us. Today, however, we should just be ourselves and stop following these rules, so that the coming generations of women can also live freely. We are always told what we must do as women – and more importantly, what mustn’t. But we also have the right to think for ourselves. The other people should not be the ones to tell us what to wear, where to go and when to go.
Dear men, gender equality is your issue too. You should support women – be it your mother, sister, daughter, wife or friend. She really needs your support, because without your support, the world is not going to change. If you turn over a new leaf, the people around you can also change – and like that, the whole society may be transformed someday. On the other hand, men should also have the freedom to be naive or cry in front of others, if they want. They should also be able to freely show their emotions and ‘be weak’. They should not be questioned for being weak and vulnerable.
This is what gender equality is all about. This is also what “Men for Women” stands for. Never judge a women or bind her. Just let her breathe freely!
