Children are becoming victims of immigration policy in America.
This mighty country speaks of human rights violations in other parts of the world. Despite that, it’s separating migrant children from their families at the US-Mexico border.
Even Melania Trump does not seem very pleased with this. Her communications director said, “Mrs Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform.”
Despite the country’s claims of being a beacon of freedom to the rest of the world, children were being separated from their parents in wake of the US-Mexico row over immigration.
More than 2,000 children have been removed from their parents over the last six weeks. Under the policy, adults are being detained and prosecuted with their children taken away and sent to separate shelters.
The American government seemed to be using the separation of families as a negotiating tool to secure funding for Trump’s proposed border wall in future immigration legislation, as critics pointed out vehemently.
