Trump’s Staff Face Massive Protests Following News Of Immigration Camps

One of the important lessons we are given as kids is, “as you sow, so shall you reap”. How true it is at this point.

In May 2018, Trump administration upheld the zero-tolerance policy. The Attorney General said that it is an “escalated effort” was needed to address a crisis at the southwest border. Between May 6 and May 19, over 650 children were separated from their parents. As of now, more than 2,500 children have been separated from their parents since Trump dissolved the rule while blaming the opposition for the implementation for the same. Researcher Aviva Dautch said that the current scenario in America is a lot similar to Nazi Germany under Trump administration. We can’t rule out anything but with the latest policy which painfully reflected inhumanity and tyranny of the “free world”, Trump administration have hit their all-time low.

While the officials and authorities are desperately trying to clean up the mess, the officials who bragged their insensitivity before the media over the last few months have received the taste of outrage from the public. On Tuesday, US secretary of homeland security Kirstjen Nielsen faced the wrath of young protesters at a Mexican restaurant in Washington DC.

They chanted slogans and yelled “shame“. “If kids can’t eat in peace, you don’t eat in peace,” one of the protesters yelled, “she is having dinner at a Mexican restaurant of all places“. One activist said that she visited a detention center at Arizona, “these kids are given frozen sandwiches that still have ice in them” she told the other protesters “ICE rips children from their families every day. They lock them up in cages, they sleep under those silver blankets. They will not be reunited with their parents because Nielsen’s staff does not think that it is necessary!“. After over 10 minutes, Nielsen and her husband left the restaurant.

On June 22, protesters rallied in front of Nielson’s home and Huffington post’s editor Philip Lewis tweeted them playing audio of immigrant children crying at the detention centre.

Trump’s senior advisor and far right activist Stephen Miller was kicked out of a Mexican restaurant after being called a “fascist“. Miller is the architect of Trump’s immigration policy which led to the president to make a U-turn. Miller has been lying since the policy backfired. “It is amazing that Miller is getting a free ride. He urged the president to pull out of DACA, and now he’s done this immigration policy,” a former administration official vented to Dailymail. “Miller managed [to] blame the travel ban on the White House lawyers for not executing it right. Now he is blaming Congress for the immigration policy. Miller is very much like the president — just deny, deny, deny.”

Sarah Huckabee Sanders from the Trump Administration was shown the door at a Mexican restaurant at Virginia. Sanders has been notorious before the public for avoiding tough questions related to reunited the families.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who went on to defend immigration policy with a quote from the Bible, currently denies it. “The American people don’t like the idea that we are separating families,” he said. “We never really intended to do that.”

There is a rise in protests against the injustice meted out to the vulnerable who were only trying to escape violence and to give their children a safe environment. Added to that, the fact that youngsters stood up against the fascist policies of the administration restored my faith in humanity. Mistakes are made but we learn from history so that we do not make the same mistakes and become a better civilization. We could learn a thing or two and know that above everything else, what matters is what side of history we choose to stand.
