Hello all.
I am a singer-songwriter based out of Mumbai.
After the Kathua-Unnao cases, I was moved to compose a song called, ‘Bachpan Theher Jaa’.
Music is seen as a source of entertainment. However, it is also a powerful medium of self-expression. Rape and assault being very worrying problems in our society, I felt that as an artist, I could throw some light on the topic which would help in creating awareness amongst people.
I am a survivor of sexual abuse myself and I know how serious the problem can get. Hence, I tried putting forth my personal anguish through this powerful song.
This composition is quite unique as I collaborated with several artists from India and the United States to make it possible. Also, I had very passionate cinematographers who made the song come to life through the music video – which is very impactful.
I have experimented with a lot of different textures and sounds in this song and the songwriting is pretty unique.
The song begins with a Spoken Word Poetry and gradually transcends to a heavy rock-n-roll ballad.
