Cross flow of information all around globe, free movement of people in the interdependent world and people to people contacts made state’s outward policy to be scrutinized by the local audience. Although the state’s security is of paramount impotance, the social media has ensured transparency in this area once hidden from public domain. More the democratisation of the digital arena , more the tangible benefits. These platforms are the one of the few reasons which made jasmine revolution in West Asian world to make autocratic regimes to get ousted and pave the way for better governance. Substantial outputs were recorded in war-torn areas to make humanitarian aid lot more easier and reach the targeted. The online platform like Facebook made tremendous impact in creating awareness about  ongoing crisis in syria and rohingya crisis caught attention from various corners. Outrage over human right violations from civil society agencies drove international players to take cognizance of matter.Track 2 diplomacy, silent weapon in the hands of state , put forward the strained relations among nations and provides enough scope to resolve trust deficit. People to People contacts is one among the tool left for nations to continue its presence in global sphere evnethough the tendency to maintain friendship largely hold in the bureaucracy. Social media platforms gives enough space to bring back track 2 diplomacy on track which is citizen centric rather than statehold on the subject. This is quite helpful in not only in traditional and cultural understanding of the other societies but engagements are far more friendly amd easy to tap. Falling prey for radicalism is the prime concern in this area, no doubt needs to be traced and regulated, does harm more than wishful coexistence. if served better the social media is going to be a game changer in the cross national relations and proved to be beneficial medium in the long run.
