Why I Started Looking At A Problem As An Opportunity

Earlier, when I used to face problems and setbacks in my life, my reaction was like – why did this have to happen to me? Why am I facing so many problems in my life? What am I going to do now? My life is ruined, and I’ve spoiled all my plans. Good things can never happen to me. Basically, I used to complain every time something went wrong.

My response was quite a common natural instinct. When we face problems in life, we think we are the only ones facing a hurdle. But the truth is, every person is dealing with their own problems. But finally, everything depends on our mindset because we never see the other side of the problem. We have a choice, either we can wallow in misery and dwell on the negative aspects of the situation, or we can find out the benefit or lesson that the problem is offering us in return.

A “problem” could actually be an opportunity. Without being faced with a problem, we would never bother to take a positive action. When I lost my job, I was very upset and was not able to understand what I should do in that situation. I started giving interviews and was rejected by so many companies. I felt that my life was ruined.

One day when I was sitting in my room, I recalled a famous quote – “Everything happens for a reason.”  Then I realized nothing was wrong, except for the fact that I wasn’t looking at my problem as an opportunity.

For the last few days, I was upset with my life and unhappy with my work. I wanted to take a decision, but I was constantly scared that it might not be the right one. Then suddenly, I lost my job. I realised then that now I had more freedom to make a roadmap of my life and achieve all my goals the way I want.

I immediately took a paper and started writing down about all my aspirations, made a complete plan, decided on a timeline and started taking actions. And I know if I focus and work hard, I will definitely succeed.

Hence I have happily started following this philosophy that whenever you are faced with problems in your life, turn them into an opportunity to fulfil all your aspirations.
