The Law Faculty at Delhi University withdrew the entrance test results within one hour of posting it on their website, which adds to the long list of irregularities in this year’s admission process in many universities.
The said entrance test was conducted on June 2018, and its results had been published at 11 am on July 11, post which the results were taken down from its official website within an hour of posting it. This academic session’s admission processes has been flooded with irregularities among many universities, from Mumbai, Delhi, Jadavpur and many such big names in the list.
The DU Law faculty had decided to go online for this year’s entrance test. The test was held at many centres across the city, and, mostly in private institutions. The students, after taking the online exam, expressed their disappointment at the lack of efficiency in the examination process and invigilation. The internet connection at the test centres wasn’t working properly. Along with slow internet and technical glitches, many complained that students were allowed to cheat openly and many were given extra time to complete the test. When the results were announced, many students complained that their score was less than expected, while many couldn’t find their name on the list.
“Many students scored 25-30 marks less than expected”, said Shilpi, one of the examinees. Due to numerous complaints, the Law Faculty withdrew the result from the website within one hour.
It was the first time when the DU LLB faculty chose to go online for the entrance tests. “This clearly shows DU cannot handle online mode”, added Shilpi.
Such glitches are frustrating for students who are seeking admissions. This delays the admission process further and in turn, impedes the academic session altogether. Being one of the most esteemed universities of the country, such delays need in the admission process need to be looked at with urgency.
The results are expected to be announced next week.
