Morality or Modernity? India’s battle for progression.

Since the primitive age, man has constantly raced towards civilization in hopes of living in a more developed society without compromising on morals and ethics. We are the people of the nation which did not resort to violence to gain independence because our dignity did not allow us to stoop so low to build a nation on bloodshed.

Our constitution has been constituted with utmost morality and has denounced every immoral and indecent act and Article 377 isn’t the only one which criminalizes anything which is unnatural and has a negative impact on natural progression.

But at the same time harassing someone for their sexuality due to birth defects is not tolerable. Yes, there are cases where a newborn baby’s sexuality is ambiguous but it can be corrected as a baby just like any physical disfigurement.
Being in the 21st century with so many medical advancements, every by birth ailment, disfigurement, disorder, syndromes can be treated with appropriate medical attention.

Challenging or questioning the natural functioning is disrespectful and dishonoring in every possible way. It’s not about sexual preferences or privacy, it’s about the treats it has against human development.

Countries which have adopted the homosexuality which is based on sexual orientation are not far away from adopting other sexual orientations such as voyeurism, necrophilia, bestiality, incest, exhibitionism, fetishes, frotteurism, masochism, sadism, etc.? Are they acceptable too?

Keeping this aside, countries like U.S and U.K have proven statistics for an increase in HIV and AIDS  in the LBGTQ community which is yet uncurable and the financial drain on society due to the medical costs of HIV is huge.  The greater the impact, the more damage it does to the society’s financial stability.

The comparison in regards to mental health between heterosexual and homosexual differs on a big scale and note that the mental health issues are not due to social pressure and rejection by the majority of society but as reported by Health24.com  ” . . . homosexuals are about 50% more likely to suffer from depression and engage in substance abuse than the rest of the population. The risk of suicide jumped over 200% if an individual had engaged in a homosexual lifestyle . . . the lifespan of a homosexual is on average 24 years shorter than that of a heterosexual.” And not only this but 73% of the psychiatrists in the American Psychiatric Association who responded to a survey by Harold I. Lief said that they thought that homosexual men are less happy than others. 70% percent said they believed that the homosexuals’ problems were due more to personal conflicts than to social stigmatization.

No society would legalize sexual promiscuity on any grounds.. But as per Bell and Weinberg report pg 308, 83% of the homosexual men surveyed estimated they had had sex with 50 or more partners in their lifetime, 43% estimated they had sex with 500 or more partners; 28% with 1,000 or more partners.”  Homosexuality has lower rates of sexual fidelity as compared to married heterosexuals which amount to  4.5% in former and later to 85% in females and 75.5% in males respectively. Does anyone think that such mind-blowing promiscuity is healthy for any society, especially when the homosexual community is particularly subject to HIV infection?

And to the worst of all, it would be a death of the society as the growth of population would be out of the question in such a lifestyle which promotes nothing but sexual freedom without responsibility.

There are issues which are enough to stagnant the human growth and environment sustainability. But here the judicial and legislative bodies who are tried again and again on issues like sexual preferences?
Talking about new India? Progression and advancements? Please clarify to me about what advancement are we liberating by doing this to society? Is all that matters is your preferred gender to sleep with for elevation of our nation?
What about those citizens who are still be killed due to the caste system, when would it be denounced? What about the justice of rape victims who were months old and sexual molestation of both gender.
It’s absolutely sickening to witness issues like Padmavati, deaths of celebrities and sexual preferences being highly broadcasted and shared on social media but the degradation of natural resources and I do not want to comment on the state of our rivers which are held sacred are being unnoticed. What about the protection of wildlife? What about the unemployment, the inflation, and the downfall of our currency? What about the public deposits and banking scandals? What about the deaths of farmers and their debts? What about the increment of compensation to militant, aerospace and navy forces? What about the conditions of government hospitals and medical aid to rural areas? What about it?

Give a thought on what would actually bring progression to our India is it only rested on the sexual preferences or the socio-economic urgencies?
