Sunny’s Biography Justifies the Phrase “Being judged by doing it in Her Own Way”

“If you could turn back the clock, would you still do what you did?”

“If Sunny Leone is becoming a brand ambassador of new India, is that a dangerous trend to have?”

“There are lots of married women who look at Sunny Leone as a threat to their husbands. Do you not care about all this?”

“Do you look at yourself as an artist? Are you an item girl?”

“Do you believe that your body will ultimately take you everywhere?”

“Am I being morally corrupted because I’m interviewing you?”

No, these are not questions I want to ask. These were some of the questions our media asked Sunny Leone.

Known by her stage name Sunny Leone, Karenjit Kaur Vohra has explored many things. She was a red-carpet reporter for the MTV Awards, worked in many movies – commercial and adult. However, she became a household name in India when she participated in the reality show “Bigg Boss”.

You might be thinking I am going to write same old philosophical ideologies related to Feminism or Equalism. Unfortunately, it’s NOT like any other feministic piece of writings or rather I can say it’s not like other PSEUDO – FEMINISITIC approach to writing. It is more like writing about the harsh and double standard mindsets. Regrettably, the term 21st century sounds good only to your ears, the term Developing Society soothes your mind, the philosophy of Progressive society is just like a star in the sky which we can see, we can praise but we can’t touch. Our society appears to bind us to follow its stricter rules than our own by setting limits on own behaviour that ultimately leads to an identity crisis and behavioural disorders.

You will see her presence deprived of casting couch existence and nepotism became just a word to her journey. She is doing reality shows… she has adopted the child who was rejected for many times for being dark, she helped in raising money for the American Cancer Society and has also posed for a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) along with never-ending list. The most beautiful thing is she has not done these to get fit to our “Sanskaari Naari” ideology. She doesn’t go well with our “sabhya samaaj” but she doesn’t need to fit in a dying society. If you can’t say her name in front of your parents or others, then admiring her in your bed is not so cool actually. Her rebellious persona against the “societal norms” with a strong feminine appeal makes her different from others and that’s where respect comes.

The difference between making judgments and being a judgmental person is very much profound. We can occasionally experience people as being overly judgmental towards anything and everyone. Nobody wants to know what goes under those eyes which witness the end number of dreams, nobody cares to look those glittering bangles can be the shackles and “Log Kya Kahenge” will remain forever!
