The Country Of Tomorrow

The sleepless eyes of a country,
Speak a thousand lies to the children of tomorrow,
Of better future, of bullet trains and subdued rage,
Gullible conformity of religious zeal,
Segregated in castes, dipped in silenced voices,
Battered dreams of our forefathers,
Faults in terrain rage on,
As mother cow lies naked,
Guilty of being provocative,
Prey to natural predators of course,
And her children too, unopened,
Nascent, yet ripe for pollution,
Norm I suppose, afterall,
Dearth of air, space and water,
Who cares anymore,
As comedians put up mirrors,
Truth finds the exit door,
Tainted history draws the textbook of white and grey,
As required, slowly the hands of fate,
Twist the screws,
How they say?
The reckless abandon of human spirit,
Unquestioning spending of a day,
Spent in illusions of my throne,
Bricks set in sand, standing tall,
Shall I act?
No, not at all, not till one beneath me shakes,
When will that be?
Today, every moment from now on.
