A barely two minutes video which was shown on News channels, social media anguished me immensely . In the video, a mob of people were shown attacking a gypsy of the C.R.P.F. All kinds of stuff were thrown at that gypsy, I could clearly see stones and bicycles being thrown . It was a mob of 50- 60 people what I could figure out from the video. The driver, under this threatening condition, didn’t stop the vehicle . Unfortunately, one individual came under the car.
This incident made the people very angry and made them violent. Every C.R.P.F vehicle which passed through that area, from then onwards, was attacked . This incident detoriated the relationship between security personnels and the people, a relationship which was never completely faithful and peaceful . Subsequently, F.I.R’s were lodged from both the sides- one against the driver and the other against the mob.
What really saddens me is the fact that the local population of Kashmir still don’t repose confidence and faith in the security personnels, even after so many years. We must understand a harmonious relation between the two is very essential for the well being and development of J&K. It is through this and only this relationship that we can fight terrorism which has penetrated deep into the valley. Stone pelters who are Kashmiri citizens should stop acting like Overground workers for the terrorist. They shouldn’t be their puppets. They shouldn’t attack the security forces for small crumbs.
We have already lost many soldiers in the hostile environment of J&K. The least way or manner in which we can help them is by respecting them. This realization is very important to come.
