Yes I am deluded
For years you have claimed,
That from the path of ultimate truth,
I have strayed.
So here’s my answer,
To all your questions and claims.
Yes I am deluded, Because I dare to question and scrutinize
The perils of religion with eyes
I have the courage to seek answers.
I don’t frame my morals,
According to a 6th century book’s standards
If following logic and rationality is being deranged
Then I am proud to be deluded.
I dare to oppose the entrenched misogyny,
Served in the flavours of Islam,Hinduism, Judaism and Christianity.
One which justifies evicting pregnant wife,
Or putting their wives as a betting try
Or the other which advocates mildly beating their wives
Or justifying the marriage consummation with a nine year old child
Where even a biological process like menstruation is considered impure,
What can be more absurd, I am not sure.
Where every form of God downgrades,
The status of women day by day
Where women are just properties of men,
Forced to be confined to their den.
If recognizing the basic human rights is an aberration,
Then being in delusion is the only sane solution.
I accept, and in fact I assert
That yes I am deluded
Even though it was you portraying me as a devil,
Vomiting out slimy green shit,
And throwing impeccable curses
Or drinking blood like our favourite drink
Or becoming a children eating cannibal
It was actually you judging my morality,
Even before knowing me fully.
Now can you spot the irony?
If still you think I am wrong,
Then you need to check your dictionary
Yes I am deluded, and that’s why
I am scared of every sect,
Because of the hate that they reflect
I am scared to be sent to some Islamic reform association
Becoming a prey of unending torture
Or to be mob lynched by some Hindu population
Or to be shunned by the local Christians
Wishing and praying to their God for my persecution
We are just humans with the same flesh and same colour of blood as you,
Still we have to live in fear because of the hate mongering attitude of a few
And just tell me why, why do we have to be in the doom
Just because we don’t believe that Muhammad split the moon,
Or a particular caste shouldn’t be born with a silver spoon.
So my dear friend, if you still feel that it’s just a phase
Then I must say that your life is a waste.
