BJP And Modi Get Trolled For Refusing UAE Aid To Kerala

Kerala has seen the worst flood recently, in the last 100 years. The catastrophe which started on August 8 has killed more than 370 people. Incessant rains, floods and landslides have made more than 7.25 lakh people homeless.

When support in the form of materials and monetary aids were pouring from all quarters of the world, there was a news that UAE is willing to offer 700 crore aid to Kerala which was seen as a solidarity to the contribution of Keralites in building their country over the past century. The Central Government denied the aid citing technical legality, which sparked huge outrage against Prime Minister Modi and BJP from Malayalis across the world. Keralites have started attacking the PM on his Facebook page.

It was ironical to see the BJP spokesperson playing a victim and saying that BJP leaders were targetted for no reason for allegedly denying any aid to Kerala. We all know that it was BJP which started the cyber army of trollers to attack opponents. No one was spared in their hands from Priyanka Chaturvedi, Shehla Rashid and even their own minister Sushma Swaraj was attacked for being lenient towards Muslims.

BJP can’t keep playing victim for Modi getting trolled, now the snakes have come back to bite them back. Earlier #POMoneModi was trending after Modi made slip of tongue in comparing Kerala with Somalia.

There is a saying in Malayalam that if you feed milk to a snake, it is likely to bite your hand. We can see the same thing happening here. The same kind of bigotry and hatred that was used to create a cyber army to bully opponents, has come back to haunt BJP.

NDTV’s Ravish Kumar was showered with abuses over WhatsApp, calls and videos after a fake quote attributed to him was circulated widely. He said that our leaders should take this kind of poison seriously because one day, it will come to their doorsteps.

Now if BJP feels that it’s unfair for Keralites and CPM supporters to troll PM Modi, let ministers create a precedent by unfollowing serial abusers and those issuing rape threats. Otherwise, they don’t have any moral right to play victim in this matter.
