Inequality in India?

Is GOI working to reduce inequality in India?

No.

In fact all steps taken by GOI is to increase inequality. This phenomenon is universal, including US, China and others! Rising inequality is result of accumulation of wealth in hands of few, which is a universal law in capitalism.

This phenomenon is more visible since 1990s, where the so called economic reform started in India under the leadership of MMS.

(I am attaching a more liberal view on this subject, though this review could not hide its glee favouring big capitalist class, here its

one line: “6. It wanted to increase the participation of private players in the all sectors of the economy. That is why the reserved numbers of sectors for government were reduced to 3 as of now.) https://www.jagranjosh.com/general-knowledge/new-economic-policy-of-1991-objectives-features-and-impacts-1448348633-1)

Now after destroying most of the hurdles due resistance by the working class, peasants, this inequality is very clear and is accelerating.

Few examples of this process are Land Acquisition Bill, making garbage of Environment Act, abrogating all Labour Laws, Demonetisation, GST, FDI, Bank Bail In, Aadhar Card, etc!

Other measures are inflation due direct plunder by the government, like very high prices of petrol/diesel, edibles, oil, increased taxes on all most all services, like in Railway and platform tickets, Bank services, Parking charges.

Other illegal loots are “excusing” Ambani, Adani and other big capitalists of their huge unpaid taxes & loans, running away from India after plundering 1000s of Crores and helping the criminals to settle in Antigua & other countries, forcibly taking away lands of the tribals, hoarding, etc! Allotting most of the enterprises to Ambanis/Adanis which even includes defence deals and production, forcing public sectors to close in favour of private sectors, like removing Air India from profitable sectors/routes and allotting them to private Air Lines, using MTNL transmission towers by Reliance and not letting MTNL hire fresh workers and starving it of manpower and ensuring its poor performance! We can call it monopoly capitalism, another form of capitalism, but its not crony capitalism!

One year back, 68 people had as much as half the Earthians and now that is held by only 8 of them! (https://www.oxfam.org/en/pressroom/pressreleases/2017-01-16/just-8-men-own-same-wealth-half-world)

In India, this year so far, approximately 70% of the wealth created was swallowed by 1% elites, while last year it was 65% and even before that it was approx 55%! (https://www.oxfamindia.org/pressrelease/2093)

Yes, the politicians, especially in power, get huge commission, about which we have no way to know as RTI does not allow us on their account and also the foreign funding is now hidden, with latest change in law by the BJP government, which, incidentally had also changed law to free Ambani from the FIR filed by the Delhi Crime Branch!

Just to give an insight, “

India Slips 3 Ranks To 100 Among 119 Countries In 2017 Global Hunger Index; Behind Bangladesh, Nepal https://thelogicalindian.com/awareness/global-hunger-index-india-100/)

Wake up friends, this inequality has made us worthless, even if we have a flat and some employment, where uncertainty & fear is lurking every time!
