Hypocracy at the administration and that of the managing members of Tata Institute of Social Sciences can be a very tarnishing act of insensitivity towards a large number of students of the TISS family…
While the Mumbai campus was celebrating victory over creating India’s first Gender neutral hostel, students of the Hyderabad off-campus faced innumerable cases of molestations in and around the accommodation pinpointed by the college which apparently is not their hostel, however, students choosing those accommodations are abided by the TISS ‘hostel’ protocols.
The students who showed faith in the reputation of TISS and have come to study the eminent courses at TISS, hyderabad and show equal respect and concern over the present infrastructural levels and never complained about it were given a grilling lecture on how the administration of Hyderabad campus showed ‘moral compass’ by sending faculties along the students to file FIRs; While the students conducted a peace protest by mere sitting outside the deputy director’s office to get their answers on the accountablity that the admission could help them provide since the frequency of unsafe incidences rised ever single day and during the bright hours of the day.
The students have put forward a Charter of (reasonable) Demands and request the authorities from the main campus to Intervieen and help.
Because a right to safety is a basic expectation that the students expect from their place of living for next 2/3 years.
