There Is Nothing Wrong With Wanting The Hockey Gold At Asian Games

Interestingly, no one says anything when we speak of the Indian hockey team creating some extraordinary records at the ongoing edition of the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta. Our hearts burst into song at the mind-boggling results coming out in one match after another.

However, most fans also happened to admit that this was reasonably normal since our hockey team players were defeating comparatively weaker teams, which do not have enough experience in the game. There were definitely stronger hockey teams in both the groups.

The first two successive wins were certainly an exception. In the case of the match with Hong Kong, our players dominated the Hong Kong team confidently. The peculiar thing was that the Indian team goalkeeper left the goalpost in the match and an alternate players managed in the second half.

What was upsetting for us was that they also scored the goal against us. Winning over Indonesia and Hong Kong was no big feat, if we consider the experience, skill and dexterity of these teams. Both the hockey playing countries were supposed to be new entrants in the game of stick.

Even if we were clapping or patting on our back, these wins can’t be considered extremely exemplary. We were elated at the number of goals against both the teams. But we were not supposed to be considering that the opponents were weaker.

The other teams couldn’t perform before our skilled players because of our players’ paucity of strong hands to demonstrate on the field. That was why the match remained one-sided throughout the play. Such hockey playing countries as the ones India played against merely registered their presence and nothing else.

Our confident players were feeling greatly motivated with amazing wins. Therefore, they might even just set foot in for some more victories in order to grasp more record-winning successes. Winning gold is our definite aim at the Asiad. There is nothing wrong if we desire to look for the gold medal.
