Freedom to live our dreams seems a bit difficult to find at one go. This must be especially clear to those who, over the last few years in our country, have finally chosen to take matters in their own hands, and are doing what they want, love and desire. They have chosen to take control over their lives, and are taking actions to follow their own path and create their own destiny.
To these people in particular I speak, this definitely includes millions of people who are still in bondage, dreaming of being unchained from the restrictions of their family, forced to obey every word unflinchingly like children should. But for those who choose to live their lives the way they want, it becomes incredibly difficult for them to live in our country?
It’s crazy and we need to understand why. I’ve tried to go deep into researching this matter and got to the very heart of the problem. The answer is our laws. We have laws which guard our rights as they should, but the larger, painful issue is that laws are sometimes not enforced properly. Due to this, people get beaten and thrashed for kissing on a beachside, women get raped for being at a “wrong place” at a “wrong time” and people also get chased by the police if they choose to break ties with their family relations and become a “missing person” case.
These are not just issues of dominance as our constitution guards these liberties. Laws criminalize assault for kissing someone in public, criminalizes rape, criminalizes beating up someone if they spoke a few words you do not agree with. Our Laws protect us and sometimes they don’t. Our Laws are just like a bullet and the Courts are the gun! Without the gun, the bullets aren’t even worthy of being fancied as toys. We need this gun to fire, again and again at those who attack our freedom to live as we like and do what we please.
We need to listen to the voice of our heart, and not be afraid of facing resistance in order to live our dreams. As giving up would mean letting people dictate our lives and being stopped by those who think they can tell us how to live our lives and choose for us. This must end, and I guarantee that it will not stop until we make a stir for it. Life is funny. We have to keep fighting for what we love; fight for my dreams. When I chose to go my way and do a job against my family’s wishes, I felt free. The job made me the king of my own self. I could feed myself and live a life on my terms.
But, it didn’t last long as I needed financial support again. I had to turn to some of those people I chose to break away from. But they choose to respect my freedom this time. Things are still difficult but, I feel I must fight. You would probably have a similar story if you have ever chosen to follow your heart in this moral, rightful and ‘be the good person’ culture we’re born in. I need support and help to live my dreams, and it is not a favour but a moral duty of people around me. Please fulfill your duty to protect your liberty and do not crush mine in the process.
Our lawmakers are the guardians and role-models of the very society we want to break away from. They will not listen to you until you make them! For which, we must again, fight. Let us do it together and finally fix the flaws in our courts and stop police abuse so that we’re protected from those who think they can rule us at any given moment. Freedom of life will only come when the haters and the morally superior are put in the check. For this to happen, we must raise our voices.
I hope this may make you seriously consider at least joining forces with those around you, and to show some strength in your own local community. We should demand an efficient and dependable police force, which people are not scared to approach. Police are state subjects in our Constitution, so we should ask the Government to ensure this.
We must find inner peace by doing what we must, following our inner voice. I’m certain you will not resent it any bit. When we chose to be brave, we become free. And together, we can be a free-spirited country.Only if we choose. As John Stark, the star general of the American Revolutionary Army once said: “Live Free or Die trying, death is not the worst of sins.”
