AAP Rolls Out Doorstep Delivery Of 40 Government Services In Delhi

The doorstep delivery of government services to citizens is one among a few masterstrokes of the Kejriwal government in Delhi. There seems to be a sense of seriousness in the Aam Aadmi Party government about citizen welfare which made it go ahead with this novel scheme. There was appreciation and zeal among Delhiites too during the launch of the scheme. The launch also saw a touch of surprise from some.

Though in the initial plan, as many as 40 government services are being made available to Delhiites, there is a scope of its extension in the coming months. Arvind Kejriwal has assured the people of increasing the number of services to 70 in the next month, and beyond that, he has said that he will consider a macro plan of delivering around 100 services within three months.

In the first stage, the government is providing 40 services including caste certificate, driving license, ration card, marriage certificate, and water connection at the people’s doorstep with an extra charge of Rs 50.\Delhiites living in the areas that stretch out to the eleven districts where the scheme will apply must not shy away in availing the necessary benefits through this newly launched scheme, and save themselves from various unnecessary troubles.
The Kejriwal government has planned to use up a significant amount of Rs 12 crore on the delivery of the doorstep services for the whole city. He has not been shy of receiving criticism from all quarters about the scheme and has appealed to the media to highlight flaws in the new scheme so that he can correct them in the course of time.

Without a doubt, this step is a radical change in the style of governance. The people will find it beneficial to avail indispensable services with no trouble. A private company has been hired for the purpose. A feedback system has also been set up. Delhi will have six mobile facilitators and one supervisor in each of 11 districts to run the system.
