The Way This Popular Brand Cleverly Tackled Plagiarism Is Mind-Blowing

What would you do if someone copied your content and passed it off as their own? Some would rant about it in cyberspace, others would report, and quite a few will chuck it. But the team behind Happily Unmarried, a popular grooming brand, had other ideas.

When the social media handle of Girliyapa, a Youtube channel owned by TVF, plagiarised their content on a regular basis, they handled it creatively like never before – by posting a recruitment ad for copywriters in the latter.

HU’s post on September 1st, loaded with sarcasm, read- ‘Happily Unmarried is helping the amazingly talented people at Girliyapa to look for copywriters who can join their social media team asap. For some time now they have been running their social media without any writers, and they are forced to borrow our posts (without asking).‘ Apart from this, they also shared a series of screenshots which compared both their posts:

So how did Girliyapa react to this post in return? Needless to say, they immediately apologised and took down the pointed posts.

While this incident has us in splits, we also feel sorry for their lack of original ideas. A fun fact to note is that they’ve retorted to plagiarism despite having more followers than their counterpart.

We all had a fun time copying from others when we were students. But many still don’t realise that it will result in dire consequences if they continue doing it even after that phase.
