Stunt Riding: ‘ Sport Or Crime’

Where Stunt Riding and Freestyle Riding are considered as a respected sport in various countries, Hereby, India is still confused with regarding as a crime or a sport.
In India Stunt Riding is tagged illegal and the riders are regarded as criminals, but who is to be blamed for this mentality : the stubborn and aspiring youth of this country, or the bunch of matures who have already set up the list of various sports for themselves and their following generation with a limited perception that they do not want to support or adopt motorsports in their region.
This is so shameful that the riders who really want to live their dreams and take this sport and their country ahead on an international level are facing a lot because of this mentality.
I do agree that rash driving and performing such activities on public roads is a punishable offense, but what about the sportsmen like Ankit Bhaskar (world record holder for the maximum number of wheelie circles on an auto geared scooter), Anirudh Rived (XDL India winner ).
There are many such riders who have won many titles and awards in motorsport category and they don’t have anyone to support the talent and the sport.
Why in India only cricket is regarded as a respected sport and other sports and athletes don’t have that lifestyle and support even after serving their nation with that same spirit.
We can change the government, but again that won’t change our way of thinking and the mentality that we possess and forward to our heirs.

We still live in a mental state where when it comes to – being a sports person, we only want our children to be a cricketer without giving a thought on a fact that there can not be thousands of cricketers on one field.
We are the ones who are responsible, as we lack the support when our children are choosing their talent fields.
We are the ones who are stopping these athletes from growing worldwide and if they are achieving something in their field of sport, we comment on their choice of the sport rather than congratulating them and motivating them to achieve more.
You all must have seen motorbike stunts on Republic Day & Independence Day parades and people appreciate them because an army professional is performing them, but when a teenager is doing something same, we categorize him as a criminal.
This is what is needed to be changed, the mentality of the country and the day we will achieve it, we will be a developed country.

In the end, I just wanna conclude that these teenagers won’t stop until they will achieve what they dream for, so there is no point of stopping them because if you will stop them then they will end up with practicing such events on public areas and that will again result in accidents causing deaths.
Therefore the riding community should take an action and legalize stunt riding and freestyle riding as a sport in India so that these teenage riders should practice their activities and stunts in a place away from the public and with proper riding gears and helmets so that they don’t end up hurting lives.
There are some such communities which are trying their best to keep these aspiring and stubborn teenagers away from the roads by providing them a proper training area and gears and also motivates them to grow ahead and make their country proud.
Some of these leading communities are- Team Evolution, DISHA- Freestyle Riding School, Steel Silencerz etc.
