A Letter To The PM: Remember To Be A Responsible Head Of The Govt., Not Of A Religion

Respected Prime Minister,

I have a deep respect for your position and from where you come from. The way your government won majority made many of us think that a person who has come to head the government had developed so and so state before. You have brought changes in some sectors like sanitation, entrepreneurship, transportation, etc., which is much appreciated. We have heard you sharing some good thoughts about social initiatives done by some personalities on Mann Ki Baat radio programme.

Apart from this, there were continuous sexual assaults happening on the women in different parts of the country, but you never spoke about it openly; when there were lynchings happening in the name of cow protection or kidnapping of children, you never spoke; when thousands of farmers were committing suicide in 3-4 years, you never spoke; when several small sectors or people suffering from the affects of demonetization, you never spoke about this also anytime; when the top four judges of the Supreme Court came in front of the media against government interfering in their delivering of justice, you never spoke up, when the government media Prasar Bharati was facing interference of ministry in their independent structure you never said anything apart from removing the so and so minister.

Currently, when the top investigation agency is facing corruption charges against your favorite officer you never spoke about it and removed the director who was raising claims against the involvement of PMO. In all the above things, which are very much important and need the PM’s response, you never ever said a single word on any platform.  Now, in the presence of a large crowd at an election rally, you as a PM said that the Congress has made SC to extend the delivering of judgement about Ayodhya. As a Prime Minister, you need to never be attached with any religion, but you are creating turmoil in the country by spreading wrong claims or fake news without having credibility of the source and promoting majoritarianism or tilting the country towards one religion. There is a news that many Muslim families are leaving Ayodhya to escape from hate speeches and religious extremism.

I urge you to remember the oath you have taken as a prime minister who belongs to all and not to one, safeguards the weaker and promotes harmony in the country. Today, at an election rally in Rajasthan, Mr. Modi instead of empathizing with the 26/11 attack,  you turned it into a political dig against the Opposition.
