I’ve been a fan of actor Ayushman Khurana ever since his first film ‘Vicky Donor’ came out, and after watching ‘Andhadhun’, I got crazy to see him again. When I saw the trailer of his latest release ‘Badhai Ho’, I loved it very much and decided to watch this film. I went to see the movie with my friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The film is about the kind of conversations I have on a daily basis with my friends. I felt a connection with the story – as I too share a similar bonding with my parents and siblings as the movie depicts. The film showcases the everyday affairs of an average middle-class family and the relationship they have with their neighbours, relatives and families. This indeed is the strength of this movie.
The individual performances are a treat to watch and sometimes their facial expressions convey the thoughts so beautifully that there’s no need words.
The song “Nain na jodi” makes us emotional and brings some seriousness in an otherwise lighthearted story. ‘Banake morni’ and ‘Badhaiyan ji badhaiyan’ and ‘Mari thi miss call’ are some of the other fun songs that make the film even more interesting.
‘Badhai ho’ gives us the message that if we accept the situation and problems or anything in life the way it is, we’ll be able to deal with them better. Ignoring or avoiding issues will not solve our problems, and we must face the music no matter how uncomfortable a situation makes us. And if your family and partner are with you, then you don’t need to worry at all – every problem will be tackled like a ‘Bemausam barsaat’!
