BJP Hopes That Its Lone Muslim Candidate In MP Elections Will Help Party Win Bhopal Seat

BJP is pinning its hope on its lone Muslim candidate- Fatima Rasool Siddiqui- to win the Bhopal (north) seat that been Congress bastion since 1990. BJPs’ apparent motive behind fielding the lone Muslim candidate in the ensuing Madhya Pradesh assembly elections was to challenge Congress heavyweight Arif Aqueel who has a stronghold in this constituency.

Even MP’s incumbent CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is campaigning for Siddiqui and hoping to connect with the Muslim voters in the Muslim-dominated constituency of the state. Further, none of the party leaders wanted to challenge as Aqueel, who over the years has wooed a significant number of Hindu voters as well.

Emboldened with the party’s sufficient support, the BJP candidate Fatima Rasool Siddique looks quite positive in giving a tough fight to Arif Aqueel, who defeated her father Rasool Ahmed Siddiqui from the same constituency in 1993.

Daughter of a Congress loyalist Rasool Siddiqui, Fatima leaves no opportunity to praise BJP leaders for giving her the ticket to fight the ensuing assembly election in the state. Shy of praising the present-day Congress leaders, she only sings praises of yesteryear Congress leaders like Shyama Charan Shukla.
