G20 Leaders’ Summit is one of the most important summits in which all major economies take part, which includes two-thirds of the world population and 75% of the total wealth. It was formed to provide sustainability between all major economies. It is one the prominent stage to solve various geopolitical issues.
The theme of G20 2018 is building consensus for fair and sustainable development which is hosted by Argentina. The summit is important with regards to various issues like the US-China trade war, Ukraine-Russia arising tension, the participation of Saudi Crown Prince Salman in any international summit post the murder of journalist Khaggosi, climate change etc.
Apart from the summit, various other bilateral meetings will take place. Indian prime minister will meet Chinese president Xi Jinping. Donald Trump has cancelled the prescheduled meeting with Russian President Putin on retaliation of Russia’ annexure to Ukraine.
India is eyeing to decrease the tension with America after the deal with Russia. India is also participating in the trilateral meeting with Japan and America. It is a countering strategy of increasing China’s effect on the Indo-pacific region. In this issue, all three nations are on the same page.
