You asked for it, and we’re making it happen. In YKA’s recently conducted user survey, many of you asked us the best way to find out how many people really read your posts – so we’re making it easy for you to find out.
We’re excited to announce that starting today, Youth Ki Awaaz is introducing Post Views Analytics for all its users on the platform – and it’s super easy to access and understand.
When logged in, all you have to do is head to your post on YKA and your post views will appear right under the title of your post, as seen below.
Making sense of the analytics: FAQs
How do you calculate these views? The analytics are simple and easy to understand. They represent the pageviews on your articles. YKA calculates these views by blocking repeat views within a certain time period using browser cookie.
What does this mean? It means that if one person visits your post 10 times within a cookie expiration time frame, it’ll be counted as only 1 view and not 10 views.
How best can I use these stats? Your post views give you an idea of how successful your post on YKA is. The best way to increase these numbers is by sharing your post on social media and asking your friends to read it. If you want to improve your storytelling and get feedback on how you can write in a manner that your post gets more views, just click the “Request feedback” button at the end of your post and a YKA editor will be in touch.
Who all can see my post views? For now, only you can see the number of views your post receives – and you have to be logged in to YKA to see them.
I don’t think the views displayed on my post are accurate. Send us an email at info@youthkiawaaz.com if you strongly believe that the views on your post are not accurate. We will review it and get back to you only if there is a discrepancy. If you don’t hear back from us within 72 hours, there’s a high chance the views on your post are accurate.
The number of shares on my post are more than the views. How’s that possible? Sometimes, people on social media platforms share your posts from pages or profiles that may have shared them, without actually clicking on the URL and reading the post (well…). In such a rare scenario, there’s a chance that the number of shares will be more than the number of views.
