Why I Chose To Go For Higher Studies Instead Of Getting A Job

“Physics is, hopefully, simple. Physicists are not.”

This quote by Edward Teller, American nuclear physicist known as “the father of the hydrogen bomb”, is one of my favourite quotes. I relate to it a lot.

Today I want to talk about my subject in an attempt to make it more fascinating. This is for those who ask me how much or till when will I study? And how my study is related to our daily life? I don’t have a pure science background and nowadays I often get asked these types of questions from people around me when I go home or attend any functions since I have taken up higher studies. Most of the time they also ask if I would have some job after completing my studies? If my answer is “I don’t know or may be”, then they have another very interesting and funny question – “then why are you studying more and more if it’s going to help you get a  good job?”.

That time I did not have any answer or probably I did not want to answer their questions. It’s kind of funny because they think that we all study just for earning. Besides getting a job there is no other reason to go for higher studies. Of course that is one reason but dear all, I want to say that it has more to it than you all think. That is our love and passion for a particular subject.

It teaches me how to deal with people, how to face a problem fearlessly. It’s like meditation for me. Science that we study during our school days teaches us how to deal with the external world, it helps us in understanding how we can make our life easier. But when we enter higher studies we find that how it instructs you to learn worldliness. I have a lot of examples that I wan to share. They are as follows:

1. Physics or Quantum physics has taught me a lot, we have different systems differentiate by different potentials then we observe some measurements on it. This small thing tell me how can we interact with people with their different nature.

While measurements teach me – A man has a potential to be a gentleman, a rude angry person, a friend etc. etc. but what will project out it depends upon our measurements means how does our behavior towards them.

2. Commutators teach me if we are compatible with a guy then we always be with them even in very complex situations.

Actually Last night I was calculating something and I made some small mistake of sign and whole thing was giving a fully wrong answer ,this thing brought my attention that how a small mistake can come with a U-turn in our life.

3. Expansions taught me a big lesson,if we expand any thing more and more unnecessarily then it always create problems but if we ignore some of them then our life becomes more easy.

These are a few beautiful examples which teach me a lesson of life timely and always makes me feel complete.
My aim was only to inspire towards the higher studies because Study always help to built a good character.

Study is just not for earning.

I gave only some examples about physics because it is my passion but all subjects are good if you are able to connect with it our real life.
