It’s Up To Us To Design Our Happiness Quotient For 2019

NEW DELHI, INDIA - NOVEMBER 11: People prepare to release flying lanterns in an attempt to have a noise and air pollution free on the occasion of Diwali, the festival of Lights, on November 11, 2015 in New Delhi, India. Diwali is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn (northern hemisphere) or spring (southern hemisphere) every year. Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. Pollution level during Diwali night was higher than average due to bursting of firecrackers. (Photo by Abhinav Saha/Hindustan Times via Getty Images)

“On the golden morn

As I rose,

Trying to discover the embellished stone,

I reiterated and reminded self

To walk through odds and fight again,

Against the rough and tough,

 To pave my way,

Onto the destination

that I create”

So as we step into the shoes of 2019 and leave behind the old pair of 2018, what do we expect? Will it itch or will it be a smooth wear? Why not design 2019 as we want it to be? Isn’t it in our hands to structure and give a beautiful shape to this much-awaited year?

Obviously, not all of us want to live a mundane life, or keep brooding over the not-dealt work of the Government or of local authorities. Instead, we want the change to happen. So, let us rise above the politics of Mandir and Masjid, rights & lefts, politics and governance, power and money, to just become humans. The time is for a change. Change not in the system, but in our perception, in our own ways, which shall not give in to the shallowness of thoughts that can be detrimental to others as well as self. There is so much to appreciate, to celebrate and value that we already have around us. There is only one life, and a vast world to discover and realize. Our dreams, our aspirations will need many more lives if we make a list of our goals. Let us work together to treasure this and create more opportunities where all can live and work, hand in hand with peace and contentment.

From sports to entertainment, from politics to business to art, the new year has an ample amount of opportunities and avenues, which in turn have newer and broader horizons to reach. So why not rise above the petty politics of pulling each other down with criticism, vandalism, rowdyism and negativity.

When each one of us focuses on ourselves and tries to bring out the best, there is nothing which can stop us from growing and progressing towards a more balanced and happier society. This year lets increase our happiness quotient and make it an integral part of our lives and others.

Simple things to inculcate, which lead to more happiness:

Let us move ahead with a positive note to appreciate, accept and embrace one another as we are, only then can we forget the discrimination, withdrawals, fears and insecurities to make a stronger nation and a richer community of people.

For 2019, let us pledge to be better humans, be more considerate, be stronger and hold each other closer, to create a better and consolidated secure future for our next generation.
