PURPOSE OF RESERVATION -The purpose of reservation was to uplift the weaker sections of society and thus improve their lives. But today it has become a way to attract voters.
After the announcement of reservation to Economically Weak, we all are going to become poor.On 7 January 2019 our Union Cabinet approved that 10% Reservation will be given to General category economically weak sections in jobs, educational institutions without interfering the existing 49.5% for SC/ST and OBC.
Eligibility
- Family income should be less than 8 lakh per annum. In our country 95% of people earn less than 8 lakh per annum.
- Agricultural lands should be less than 5 acres. 85% land holdings in India lie under this category.
- House should be smaller than 1,000 sq. ft. 80% or more households in India have houses smaller than 500 sq. ft.
- Residential plot should be smaller than 100 yards in a Municipality or a plot of less than 200 yards is a non-notified municipality.
85% or more will be eligible to 10% reservation to Economically Weak.
As Yogendra Yadav Ji Rightly said ” this is not even a lollipop gifted to voters, it’s a lollipop lying in your pocket that’s being presented to you as a gift”.
