6 New Year Resolutions That Every Indian Must Make

We Indians are very good at making resolutions for the new year. However, most of the people fail to carry on with them for the whole year. We know that tolerance and plurality amongst people are degrading day by day. Violence due to cow vigilantism, fake news, etc. is also increasing. So we should take the following resolutions as good citizens:

1. Never vote for those leaders and political parties that use religious sentiments.

2. Testify the government only on the basis of performance. Also, match the promises made in the manifesto before elections and achievements year by year.

3. Never spread any hate message via social media. Also, report hateful content on social media platforms.

4. Stop watching pro-political debate shows unless your purpose is solely entertainment. Instead, you could watch Rajyasabha TV if you want to watch the news.

5. Never blindly believe the rhetoric of netas. Most of the time they play with sentiments of the public to divert from the real issues.

6. Never form opinions on historical events and leaders by reading WhatsApp forwards. If you want to know about history then read books. Go through the books of contemporary writers.

Lastly, democracy is all about people. A big change always comes from one individual. So it’s high time for all of us to think about the current conditions of our country.
