When Will We Change?

Supporters of Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare stand behind the national flag of India as they celebrate at Ram Lila grounds on the 12th day of Hazare's hunger strike at Ram Lila grounds in New Delhi on August 27, 2011. Indian hunger-striker Anna Hazare declared that the nation's people had won a great victory as he announced he would end his fast after wresting new concessions from lawmakers. Hazare, a 74-year-old social activist who said he was ready to die for his cause, had demanded that parliament agree to a tough new anti-graft law. Sometimes the solution to our all problems lies within us. We blame the government, the elite upper-class, industrialists and the list can go on. For instance, there is a scheme going on under which the government is providing five hundred rupees monthly to TB patients to take care of their health under the Poshan Abhiyan. But from what I’ve been told, patients are now falsely telling doctors in villages to certify that they have TB, so that they can avail the benefits. Government workers are happy to do that for some quick money. When I asked them if they. To which i got the reply that they throw it . I was amazed at the intelligence of these people.

A thought came to my mind that are they doing something which can be justified . Then somewhere i read the news that around thirty percent people who have toilets are not using them and still defecating in open . They take money from government to built a toilet and not used it for what it was meant  . Same goes for swach bharat , lpg subsidy etc. Are they are taking revenge from government . Some people do say that it will not reach where it was meant so why not we take it?  I think we are still treating the Government as the British raj. We are fighting the government, not realizing that it is our money. some give direct tax but poor people give indirect tax too.

So where is solution ? Education. Well ASER report tells us it will take decades to teach students values. So what can be done by an individual or society at large. Aadhar link is for govt . But for public social audit should be brought in picture .Every scheme’s  result should be verified with civil society. Ground report should be covered by media . North east state are setting a good example. Corruption should be taught as a chapter in primary classes. We as a citizen should take responsibilities for our actions and should look as long term goals. As Gandhi ji talked about Gram Swaraj . Now self swaraj is need where for individual no government is needed.
