Valentine’s Day, a day known for celebrating the essence of love, is all about cherishing the mutual feelings of love and care with your closest ones. So just like the past three years, this year too, team Being Social – एक नई शुरुआत started the month of love by making golden heroes feel special.
The Delhi team headed to Janak Sewa Samiti Old Age Home, at Faridabad on the chilly Sunday morning of February 3, 2019. The day started with a warm-up session, that included various laughter yoga sessions like ‘Lassi Yoga’, ‘happy heart Yoga’, ‘balloon laughter’, followed by a relaxing session of meditation.
While the room was being decorated for these young-hearted golden heroes, they seemed excited about the warm feeling of love being shared with them. The theme of the day was ‘Umr Dhali Hai Bhaiya, Dil Toh Jawan Hai’ (I may be old my friend, but I’m still quite young at heart). With this enthusiasm, the event proceeded with a heated up Antakshari session, followed by a happy dance session on bhule bisre geet (old songs) that revived the golden era.
Following that, there were fun games, out of which the most enjoyed one was the ’30 – seconds ~ Bindi Chipkao Game’ (stick as many bindis in 30 seconds) The ladies had to stick as many bindis on the faces of male volunteers. While playing, their eyes shined with utmost joy, they thoroughly enjoyed their moment of being kids, for in that moment, they could forget the reality of their lives.
The games continued till they cut the cake, when we shared the sweetness of love. During the event, they shared their experiences and also told us about their happiest days. One of them got up to say, “Today is the happiest day for me, because you all came here to make us happy”. The true meaning of love lies in sharing and caring, and that’s what team Being Social एक नई शुरुआत believes in!
