A lot of entrepreneurs started with nothing, but now they are on top of the world. They all started with very little money; some even started without money. But they succeeded because of their commitment to winning. Recently, at a seminar, I met two of these inspiring entrepreneurs.

The Young Founders

Saily Batte and Nitesh Puri are the founders of digital media marketing company named ‘Webers Media’, as well as an e-commerce website called ‘Trendy Need’.

Saily Batte belongs to a middle-class family. She grew up dreaming of achieving something big. She is from Gadchiroli, Maharashtra her father is a Civil Contractor and her mother is a homemaker. After graduating from school, she moved to Hyderabad, and then decided to do engineering. She moved to Pune and is currently a third-year B. Tech student of computer science at the G. H. Raisoni College Of Engineering And Management. But that’s not all. She is one of the youngest entrepreneurs in the city.

Nitesh Puri, at the age of 20, when most youngsters are still pursuing their studies and are undecided about their future, is living his life just liked he dreamed. He comes from a middle-class family as well. His mother is a government employee. His father died after a heart attack in 2003. Nagpur-based Nitesh was always fond of social media and was running some Facebook pages when he was younger. He completed his education in Nagpur before moving to Pune, where he joined Saily in college. In his second year there, his mother had an accident, and he dropped out from college. Realising the responsibilities of taking care of his family, he started working on his ideas and that’s how his journey started.

The Rise Of Weber’s Media

Weber’s Media was their first startup that turned into a digital media marketing company. After Nitesh dropped out to help his mother, instead of regretting his decision, he started to work with Saily. Without much money to invest in a startup, they borrowed capital from friends, and began. A week after creating their first Instagram shoutout page, they crossed 50,000 followers. From their earnings, they started promoting local brands and some small pages, working day and night after receiving enough money they started their website.

After inaugurating our own company, in a week’s time, we managed to get a client who asked us to make a website and it’s logo. We charged him a fee that was lower than the actual cost, as we believe in client satisfaction more than anything else. Gradually we moved on and managed to get good clients,” the pair told me. In August they had their first collab with Webenza and have never l00ked back since. Recently they began working with TechStar Bangalore and three other companies.

The Rise Of Trendy Need

After the first successful startup, they started their e-commerce website, Trendy Need, selling daily need products. In the beginning, they faced many problems with getting the company registered with the Registrar of Companies as they had no idea about the legal formalities. But somehow they managed, and now they have more than five thousand happy customers per month, and the numbers are only growing.

Future Plans

When asked about their future plans, Nitesh told us that he and Saily are working on her dream project of making a website for whoever enjoys ‘girly stuff’, and it is almost ready to launch. The journey started with just the two of them is now a startup with a 25-member team, and soon these entrepreneurs will start their own internship program for undergraduate students.
