Ever Tried Writing Without A Thought In Mind?

Have you ever tried writing down something on a blank page with a completely empty mind, without any particular thought occupying it? Of course, many of you may not have tried it yet, but whenever do you get time, today or tomorrow, take out a few moments from your busy schedule and do try this.

Now, I am sure your logical neurons are forcing you to think about why one should do it. But I am not going to tell you this because what I want to convey is that when you are ready to write something on a blank white page, try to leave behind all the academic possessions of your mind. Be calm and natural, breathe in and out. After that, place your pen’s nib on the page. Don’t try to fake it, be real and just keep writing, carry on, keep flowing like a river and let your thoughts flow from within. Would it be good or bad? Don’t worry! If it is good, you will praise your inner self, but if it’s bad, accept it as it is and forgive yourself.

After reading the above paragraph, I am sure you are thinking “Yes! It seems like a nice idea” but to be honest, I don’t know why I am suggesting this experimental idea which I have used to only experiment on myself. Maybe some of you will think it will improve writing skills, while some of you may also think that it will calm your mind because it is a kind of mutual conversation between you and your inner self. Both of the opinions are right.

But I think the output of the above exercise is something which is beyond our materialistic, ordinary thinking. The human mind is simply awesome, it works magically when we are naturally inclined, but the moment we force it to do something, it starts feeling uncomfortable and as a result, you also feel stressful, and trust me, it all happens because of external factors. Long term stress also causes other problems in the human body. So, what’s the solution? Probably this writing exercise is not the only solution, but I am sure it is one of them.

Now, in short, we are talking about mental health, so the nature of the human mind is such that it is always looking for happiness and pleasure, but it is true that both of the things are not stable in our life. One has to go through both pain and pleasure. Here, while going through ups and downs the important thing which will save you is your state of mind. Your state of mind should always be in the right direction in both phases. Right direction means your mind should always remain calm. I know it seems tough, but once you master this stage, your life will be like an easy video game, which you play because you love to win.

Happy writing!
