The Manohar Lal Khattar government has failed miserably on the law and order front. Violence and Crime in general, and crime against women especially, have touched new highs. This clueless and insensitive government has left the women and young girls at the mercy of hoodlums who appear to have no fear of the law.
Chief Minister Khattar has himself admitted in the state assembly that since 2014 the number of cases of rape reported have increased 1.5 times from 961 to 1413. He has also conceded that
the crime rate against women had not decreased in districts where women police stations had been opened.
In such a scenario, the much touted ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with great pomp and show from Haryana in 2015 has proved to be a farce on
womankind.
Under the Khattar government the state has also topped the charts in murders, kidnappings, robberies and dowry deaths. Similarly crime against children and cases of drug abuse are on the increase. The state law and order machinery has collapsed as the Khattar government has proved a complete failure in protecting the
lives and property of residents and getting them justice.
