The countdown to AMU Lit Fest 2019 has begun! Just four days to go!
Lovers of literature are eagerly waiting to welcome the only literary festival solely conducted by students in India. AMU Literary Festival is organized every year, which is one of its kind as it is India’s only literary festival solely run by students of the university with no or minimum corporate sponsorship.
It is a festival celebrating art, literature and social change. This one of a kind literary festival hosted by a university shall present before you a host of writers, poets, journalists and filmmakers to discuss a variety of issues pertaining to diverse the fields of art. With people from diverse areas coming together and talking about the issues of the day and age, this festival is truly a melting pot of culture.
Workshops to teach students about the ins and outs of various forms of writing and public speaking are also conducted as a part of the festival, which smoothens the educational experience. This year’s inaugural lecture will feature the Founding Editor of The Wire, Siddharth Varadarajan and Nazia Erum, a prominent author, a columnist and the youngest Indian to represent southeast Asia at the Global Fund Board.
February 27, 2019 marked a special day for propelling the event with an awesome gathering at the university’s Strachy Hall. About 190 students registered themselves as interns for this mega event that was about to take place. Students across the university spectrum were part of the internship team.
All interns sat wonder struck at the way the organizing committee introduced the expectation and takeaways from the interns. The enthusiasm filled organizing team introduced various teams like the PR team, the newsletter team, the hospitality team, photography team, stage management team, decoration team, ambassador team, food arrangement team and so on. The discipline and order maintained at Strachy Hall was witness to how prepared the organizing team was.
Online competitions are the special feature of AMU Lit Fest 2019. The AMU Literary Festival in an online mode is the perfect platform for hosting creative outbursts through a bunch of online competitions.
This is open for any student at any university in India. It includes a caption writing contest, a ghazal writing contest, a tiny tales contest, a self-composed poetry contest, a photography contest, a flash fiction contest, a short story contest, and a My AMU Story contest.
There will two kind of winners for each section. One will be chosen on the basis of jury decision and the other on the basis of maximum Facebook reactions.
