Terrorism, Jingoism and Politics

Jingoism is in a spillway from the last few years and gradually taking the word of patriotism in India. Politics plays the requisite in forming a jingoist. Terrorism, for the longest part of time, has been used by the politicians to encourage the jingoistic belief in people. On the other side, the opposition party challenges one’s patriotic beliefs and in action jingoism occurs.
On the day of 14th February, 40 CRPF jawans were martyrs in Pulwama by a suicide bomber. The nation was in silence, tearing for the wound that was given by the terrorist. After the pain got soaked in the debates were on, politics promptly comes into play. The agenda selling of the parties started.

The Indian Air force avenged the deaths of CRPF jawans and destroyed the terrorist base camp in Balakot Pakistan on 26th February. But again the same questions were raised by the oppositions when Surgical Strike in 2016 happened. “What is the proof of the air strike?” These kinds of questions pinch some patriotic people and they unconsciously become jingoist.

These attacks bring the jingoism out of a patriot. Terrorism is certainly not a new phenomenon, especially not in India. We have been in their target for the largest part of time. They have tested our tolerance and challenged the country’s integrity and we have retaliated in a malefic manner. But these politicians continue to use terrorism as their appliance.
