Meet Vivek Kumar. A 14-year-old child champion from Bihar, he lives in Adalatganj Slum in the heart of Patna. Born to a father, who works as a driver and a mother, who is a homemaker, Vivek has three siblings, all of whom are studying despite facing daily hardships such as lack of proper drainage, water logging, no piped water supply and a shortage of toilets.
Belonging to one of the most populous states of India, Bihar, where over 46% of a whopping 104 million-strong population (Source: Census 2011), Vivek Kumar has a message for you. Ahead of the General Elections, he brings a list of demands from the children of his state to government representatives and policymakers, to inform their manifestos and align them with the needs of one of the most neglected communities in politics – children.
