Don’t Let Your TV Decide Who You Vote For

This voting season, as the elections are approaching, be sensitive towards whatever you’re seeing on television. If you’re even a little aware about how the IT Cells of the political parties work, you must be aware of how they manipulate the information that we see across any forms of media including news channels, newspapers, and social media. Social media being the most affected.

Political parties are trying to gather as much as attention as they can now and in order to do so, they’re making up facts and figures on their own. Their main objective is to overshadow the statements of their opposition party; this is one of the major reasons why India’s opposition is so weaker and almost every speeches/conference of them is taken very lightly by the fellow citizens. Due to this whenever the opposition has something to ask from the ruling party they’re framed as if whatever they are asking is against the favour of nation; television is one of the major sources via which masses of the population gets the information about whatever going on in the country and hence plays an important role in forming the opinions of the potential voters. Media acts as the mirror through which citizens see what’s going around the country and therefore toxic media is as harmful as some kind of terrorism if not handled on time.

Before choosing any candidate to vote to, do not get influenced by how much expenditure they’ve put through in the advertising; it is more important to know what the leader has done in the selected area and analyze their political career and make opinion about each and every candidate then only reside on choosing any of them. It might be the case that the deserving candidate didn’t put enough on their advertising team. Don’t be a blind voter, be an active citizen and in order to criticize the government for their wrongs in the future and make sure you do vote. It is the only time they can know who the real MVP is; do it for farmers, do it for soldiers, do it for the safety of women’s but don’t do it for statues and memorial parks of their respective leaders.

In order to know your candidate more:

Make sure your friends and family members are not voting just for the sake of voting if they are not aware of the political scenario going on in your area; go tell them the wrongs and the rights about the candidates and their parties.

This election season use your right to make sure the power of the country falls in the safe hand and make sure you don’t waste your precious vote on someone undeserving; in case you feel that all the contesting candidates are not worthy then you can go for  “NOTA” option as well.
