We have all seen the increasing number of cases involving child sexual abuse. As per NCRB data of 2017, every 15 minutes a child becomes a target of sexual abuse in India. It is painful that abuse not only ravages the body of a child but their very soul too. Thus, it’s necessary that children be protected and empowered to protect themselves. Our Voix knows child sexual abuse is preventable and not inevitable. Together we can make childhoods safe again. We asked people to join in and the response was the same: We will raise #OurVoix all through April, Child Abuse Awareness month.
Many joined our campaign #IStandForBachpan. It was initiated to protect children, primarily, from sexual abuse. People from all walks of life—parents, teachers, leaders, TedX speakers, RJs, students, doctors, and celebrities are coming together for one cause.
Three simple things which you can do to be a part of this are:
- Hold a sign with “#ISTANDFORBACHPAN” on it.
- Tell us why you stand for bachpan.
- Post the image on your social media handles and tag three friends to further spread the campaign!
