We know some countries are rich, some are poor and some are working hard to become rich. We can say that some are developed countries and some are developing countries. For instance, the USA, the UK, and Russia are developed countries and India, Albania, and Algeria are developing countries. They are also trying hard to become developed countries. To become a developed country, sometimes bold and tough decisions need to be taken, like increasing taxes or increasing the price of different commodities which either results in rapid economic growth or economic downturn.

We know from history that India was known as “Golden Sparrow” as it was a rich country. Due to a number of invasions by various kings, it was looted, which led to the end of its richness. The Britishers also had a role to play in this. When the Britishers started their rule in India, they exported all kinds of resources and valuable goods to Britain which resulted in the economic downfall of India and the subsequent economic growth of Britain. It is now counted as one of the richest countries in the world while India is still struggling to overcome its poverty. She is working hard to become a rich country.

Now, about our valley of honey, Kashmir. Kashmir is also rich in resources, but still, we are not in a position to utilise them; we do not possess the right types of technical equipment required to utilise such valuable resources. Due to a number of disasters, like the agitation of 2008 and 2010, Kashmir has suffered too much damage, and it has been estimated that it will take Kashmir 50 years to get back on track.

The floods of 2014 pushed her back to 60 years.  And, the agitation of 2016 again pushed her back to another 50 years. Now, for God’s sake tell me what will be the economic level of Kashmir? Yes, obviously it will be 0 i.e zero or in other words, we can say “totally Flop“. I believe the only way for Kashmir to get back on track is that both, the central government, as well as the state government, should take some initiative, like purchasing some right type of equipment so that resources can be utilised. The system of education in Kasmir is in shambles, but there are many talented students. After facing a number of disasters, students of Kashmir are still cracking the toughest exams of the country, like civil services.

In my opinion, it is the fault of the government that they are not helping these bright students in achieving their respective goals. The whole world is developing in every field but our Kashmir is still at the bottom. Why? Who is responsible? Yes, it is the fault of government, it has failed Kashmir in every field. They should provide jobs to talented students. I appeal to the central government as well as the state government to start programs through which the youth can accrue some benefits.
