Political democracy cannot be permanent unless its origin is a social democracy. But what is the meaning of social democracy, today? It means the lifestyle which recognizes freedom of equality and fraternity. The principles of freedom, equality and fraternity should not be seen separately as a trilogy. If one of these is isolated, the purpose of democracy is defeated. Freedom cannot be separated from equality for equality is independence. Similarly, freedom and equality cannot be separated from the fraternity (bandhutwa).
In the absence of equality, independence will create a situation where various rulerships will be established on many different sides. Today, the democracy of India has been wiped out. Today, democracy has been filled with the smell of looting dung. Today, a shameless fundraiser, and religion are running the country. Poor farmers, labourers, and students, who have been striving to provide for their family’s basic needs, sit in the hope of seeking their share.
It is necessary to bring those people to power who have tried to wipe the tears of their family and society. Today, we should demand a personality who respects the martyrdom of our brave soldiers. By combining the flowing tears, a leader should try to grow a tree which bears fruits like peace, love, brotherhood, and sisterhood.
Today needs someone special.
But before that, you need some introspection. If you are currently devoted to any of the thug parties spread across the country or if you are fond of a particular ideology, you need to think again. If you think that you will earn money from politics then you have a lot to realise.
