Last month a scuffle took place between Indian and Pakistani Airforce, however, both the forces have their own version of the story. Pakistan had categorically refused the assertion made by IAF that the latter had shot down an F-16 aircraft of Pakistan Air force, on February 27 during aerial combat.

Recently a reputed US defense magazine published a report by some unconfirmed sources that US counted all of the F-16 aircraft in Pakistan and none of them were missing. This news created a storm in the media houses of the two countries. Pakistan is quoting it as a credible source to back their claim, while India rejected the report.

On a tweet, IAF twitter handle said that they have all the proofs regarding the shot down of F16. Moreover, India also showed the debris of the AMRAAM missile which is only compatible with F-16, while also submitting other technical proofs to the USA.

Previously, Pakistani changed its stance many times. Earlier it said that it’s forces had two Indian pilots in captivity, which later came out to be a false claim. Also, there is little clarity if they actually used F-16 during the tussle or not.

According to a news report published on Hindustan Times, the United States defence department in Pentagon on Friday said that it was “not aware” of any investigation that was conducted to ascertain if Pakistan had lost an F-16 in a dogfight with Indian fighter jets on February 27. In other words, the credibility of the report is underscan, as the sources of the report are anonymous. The least we can do as of now is to trust and go by the claims made by the IAF.
