Passion Matters

Is advice like, ‘Follow Your Passion’ enough?

Passion is quite an interesting topic. I’m sure all of you have a passion; like I am passionate about photography!

Doing forced things may lead to great success but pursuing what your heart desires will drive you towards happiness. And it is a fact, remember Bill Gates and Walt Disney?

When you’re ready to run behind your passion without taking it for granted , you’ll surely succeed.

But, the real question is—how do we explore our desire path of passion?

It’s quite easy, really.

Create a checklist. Write down the tasks you’re best at . Select the option that gives you utmost satisfaction. And most importantly: Believe in yourself. If you don’t chase your dreams, you’ll definitely be engulfed by regret, and unsettling thoughts such as “Why did I not pursue the field I was passionate about?”

And once you do reach the pinnacle of success, you will know what true happiness is and you will be extremely proud of yourself.

Secondly, a major issue is the thought process of parents. Some of them aren’t ready to let their child follow his/her desired path. The major reason being, they think there is not much scope and will lead to utter wastage of money.

Let’s go back to the year 2009—The movie “3 Idiots” narrated the tale of Farhan Qureshi’s family. They too had the exact same reason. Someone who is truly passionate might be able to convince his parents, else just to succumb to his ill-fate.

As the movie “3 idiots” said, “Kisi mahaan purush ne kaha hai, ‘Success ke peeche mat bhaago Excellence. Excellence pe focus karo. Success tumhare peeche aayegi’ (A great man once said don’t run after success. Excellence. Focus on exellence. Success will automatically follow).”

Choose the way which best defines your “Excellence”.

Don’t comply to societal norms, do it for yourself too!
