Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Who Will Steal The Show?

The elections are nigh, and the opposition party leaders seem unable to find an effective middle course to dominate over the saffron wave in the new edition of the parliamentary elections. Which political party will touch the magical figure of 272 or 273 or 274? Well, this remains hazy at this point in time. The general elections, to be completed in seven phases, are here now.

Even the ruling party cannot be completely certain of repeating the breathtaking 2014 performance. Even those who are not politically neutral, and participate in political discussions, cannot surely predict the saffron party’s victory. They seem hesitant to talk about the possible final tally. Is the Bhartiya Janata Party sure of its triumph in the general elections?

It is, as analysts point out, also facing a challenge, for the party members are not ignorant of some of the lapses that had happened during the past years. Even its top leaders probably realize the possible adverse impact of the promises they had made, that continue to remain unfulfilled. The Congress party propelled the BJP’s failures on several fronts, bringing in fruitful results in three major rural states of Hindi the hinterland, just three months ago.

Congress party raised issues like the lack of jobs and poor farm prices to create chinks in Modi’s fame in those three states. However, poll pundits affirm that Modi’s popularity shot up after the bombing and the tough stance taken by the government on our neighbor Pakistan. The Prime Minister even glorified India’s emergence as a space power. The RSS, I believe, rests solely on Modi’s credibility, and supports the BJP with its extensive grip on the minds of people.

Amit Shah’s course of action adds another impetus to the party’s accomplishments. The BJP apparently sees no requirement of Muslim candidates after the denial of ticket to Shahnawaz Hussain in Bihar. Leaders in the number two position seem to have been lost their confidence. The elections appear to be taking place only with a few apex leaders.

After all, it is all about the power of money. The party’s organization prepares to entice voters, with the help of sophisticated technological means that find a place of importance in the polls. In my opinion. the country’s socio-political condition hardly seems to concern its politicians, unlike what political analysts insist. Priyanka Gandhi’s hard work to gain the party’s lost terrains might spoil Amit Shah’s well-drawn election strategy. They were moving ahead for the electoral battle in full force at this stage.

The allies Mayawati-Akhilesh seek political survival in Uttar Pradesh. Could this blatantly harm Rahul-Priyanka’s political game? Only in Bihar, the young Turk Tejeshwi Yadav seems to be moving ahead with wise counsel. Bengal depends on Mamata Didi’s political equations. Patnaik, Naidu, and Stalin have a task ahead of them, living up to their respective legacies.

Modi does have the infrastructure to connect with the common people. The politicians appear determined to play with set notions and the political spirit. The need for a political vision echoes all over the country yet again.
