Why Are Umar Khalid And Anirban Bhattacharya Missing From Kanhaiya Kumar’s Campaign?

These days, the flights from Delhi to Patna are very crowded. A group of intellectuals, social workers and star campaigners, on invitation, are reaching the land of Begusarai to cheer and extend support for Kanhaiya Kumar’s candidature. In this crowd, I tried finding Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, but after many inquiries, found that they were not invited.

Do you remember those days when Kanhaiya was sitting in the jail and adoring blue and red bowls, and unintentionally a revolution was seen from within it? Perhaps Kanhaiya has forgotten that these two dear friends were also eating in jail with him, and played an equal role in bringing this revolution to the streets of the country with closed corridors of the prison. Students and youth who are always standing with Kanhaiya in conflicts are compelled to ask him a few questions in this situation.

What is the reason that while on one hand, Kanhaiya is calling Najeeb’s mother, and on the other hand, he is looking at cutting a bundle with a struggling and thoughtful companion Umar Khalid?

Is he doing multiculturalism politics? Does he also need “Victim Muslim” to adapt to his politics?

So much so that we understand that Kanhaiya’s scars were good and were washed away, while the blot on the personality of his Muslim companion, Umar Khalid remains blurred due to his identity till date.

We used to believe that Kanhaiya will not allow his political ambition to be established above his ideology. But on such a big occasion, where Kanhaiya Kumar is contesting in Lok Sabha Elections from Begusarai District of Bihar, the fact that he has chosen to ignore Umar Khalid and create momentous distance between the two is presenting abundant evidence of him adapting to multinational and Islamophobic attitude.

With the support of almost 80% Muslim youth, if Kanhaiya Kumar takes care of the presence of his old companion Umar, then no one questions his integrity towards his ideology. The Muslim youth is feeling cheated and embarrassed about this act.
