Why Do We Need To Break The Glass Ceiling?

Oxford Dictionary defines ‘glass ceiling’ as – an unacknowledged barrier to advancement in profession, especially affecting women and members of minorities. It’s a bow to every person who had, have or is thriving hard to break the glass ceiling. But, quite to the contrary, a question arises punching hard on the conventional mindset which asks, why is there even a need to break that glass ceiling? Why in order to prove oneself, they have to go beyond the limits to shatter those glass slippers they are told to put into?

What Is This Glass Ceiling And Why Does It Exist?

It exists because of us, because of the conservative thoughts that we have, it exists because we, the humans, are the flag bearers of this very conservative wrapped mind of ours. Breaking the glass ceiling has become an indicator of success because we have our voice raised against any difficulties in the way. People think by grounding their thoughts to oddities, but ask yourself are they really oddities?

Let’s live life to not only break those glass ceilings and feel triumphed, rather change the glass slipper we are bound to be a part of; such that the upcoming generations don’t find it difficult to follow their dreams and passion, their unusual and unconventional thoughts because- the road less trodden, is the road to success!
