My Thoughts On The 2019 Lok Sabha Elections

This year’s election results provide a bigger victory for the ruling party than the last election, and the credit for this massive victory goes to strong leadership and poll strategy by Amit Shah and NaMo. The opposition, since 2014 itself, has never seemed to have strong leadership. Additionally, the Opposition lacked vision, they failed to arouse a sense of nationalism in the people of India and they lacked a leader that could compete with Modi; all these factors combined resulted in BJP’s victory. I would like to congratulate the BJP workers and the Prime Minister.

Here are some of my observations in relation to the election results:

1) I feel it’s good for democracy that leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia are trailing competing with each other, but, in my opinion, it is better if they lose. Let them realize that other party workers may also prove better leaders than them, and others should be given a chance.

2) All seven seats in Delhi went to BJP – I see this as a perfect message to Arvind Kejriwal. He is no more a ray of hope for the people of the capital.

3) I wanted Atishi in Parliament, I felt sad seeing her at number 3.

4) Pragya Thakur may attract some hardcore Hindu votes, but certainly, people like her have to learn a lot to be considered a matured leader. She may do more damage than good in the long run.

5) Kanhaiya Kumar is a good speaker and a much better choice than Giriraj Singh. I had hoped to see him in parliament but unfortunately, the people of Begusarai did not elect him.

6) Parties such as the Trinamool Congress and YSRC have fought surprisingly well even in this Modi wave. Now Congress must realize that there are some serious issues with their leadership, policies and poll campaigning.

7) It was good to see Shashi Tharoor getting re-elected, I think he is a good orator and people like him should be in the parliament.
